Some people think the savior of the music industry has been found in MusicDNA, created by the same folks that created the MP3 and thus the demise of the music industry.
Tears of a Conan
Jan 21
How funny is that nobody that matters is on Team Leno in the whole NBC/Leno/Conan fuckfest? You’d think that a loooong-time standup, who’s helped launch the careers of so many others (via the Tonight Show for damn near 2 decades) would get some more love, but damn. Like Conan found out this week, that’s just life in the fast-lane, playboy. Allegedly, Jay doesn’t even accept a paycheck from NBC and instead makes his living doing standup gigs around the country (mostly in Casinos). But Illbert Garenas seriously can’t see a Jay Leno contract ending with the phrase “…for the rate of $0.01 per annum…now sign this.”
We here at IDW are mostly on Team Conan, but we have to think that all of his recent stuntin on them hoes at NBC is, in some ways, meant to distract people from actually contemplating how huge of a slap in the face this is for him and, frankly, how embarrassing this is for him. As red as the carpet might be over at FOX (or FX), he’s got a long and steep uphill battle ahead of him when it comes to regaining his relevancy after his hiatus.

After a well received live video (dvd blu ray whatever), 2 sub par albums and a debut that amazed everyone, the Killers are on “hiatus.”
A band that is notoriously technophobic, and extremely worried about how they are perceived amongst their fans (read: very selective about what they sell out their music too) has decided to take some sort of break from feather shoulder pads and touring.
The Killers announce they are going on ‘hiatus’ after current tour | News | NME.COM.
SIGN OF THE TIMES: Speaking on the N.Y. Times, the gray lady is rumored to be on the verge of transitioning its online operation into a pay site, a la the Wall Street Journal, in what would be a bold experiment. (1/18a)
I’ll be the first to admit that I had Gaga all wrong, claiming she was just a single hit. Or just a weirdo. But she continues to prove me wrong, as an artist with a great sense of what is going on, as well as the ability to capitalize off it. And now she showcases more of herself by creating a multimedia fable with Grandmaster Melle Mel for children.
Mariah's Golden Globes
Mariah Carey showed up at the Golden Globes last night wearing the outfit showing off her tanned boobs. Apparently she thought that is what the Golden Globes were all about.
In what has probably been one of the toughest / worst weeks for the label this year (has to be, the year is only 3 weeks old) and perhaps recent history, a day after the label had massive layoffs that saw three senior executives leave, the employees who still had jobs to show up to on Friday were asked to go home due to a bed bug scare.
